It was a sucker punch for the Blades who had leveled through a sublime strike from midfielder Gustavo Hamer. But that moment of magic sadly counted for nothing in the final analysis.

Hamer's screamer on the hour mark had given the visitors real hope of salvaging something from the game. But despite bossing possession late on, they couldn't fashion a decisive breakthrough.

Heckingbottom threw on two bright youngsters off the bench as he chased the points. But the likes of Iliman Ndiaye and Oli McBurnie were badly missed as the Blades drew another attacking blank.
